Hello Kitty bags

August 16th, 2010 Cake Posted in Shopping Comments Off

Bought a few Hello Kitty reusable bags online. Too cheap to pass at only over a dollar each with free shipping. Couldn’t get any cheaper. I mean you certainly can’t find this price at the local shops here, I guarantee that!

I’ve been using one to stuff in DD’s swimming stuff when we go for her lessons. Eventhough at times it got kinda heavy due to the things I put in it like water bottle, container of food, my heavy handbag, wet clothes, shoes, etc, etc, the bag is very durable.

Buying gifts for family

August 15th, 2010 Cake Posted in Shopping Comments Off

Everytime I make a trip to visit my family, I would never fail to buy some gifts for my nieces, nephews and friends. However, after the last trip I promised myself not to buy anymore gifts as everyone has grown up and it really took a lot of time to shop for each individual.

Guess what? I found myself shopping for gifts again to bring home this coming trip! I am mostly buying clothing. Cutesy ones for little girls and urban clothes for grown ups young people.

Thank goodness my trip is still more than a month away. It really allows me time to shop ? Hope they will like the little gifts I bought.

Spring Fashion

August 8th, 2010 Cake Posted in Shopping Comments Off

Yes it’s out with winter fashion and already all departmental stores are stocking up spring wear. I didn’t catch much of the winter stock clearance (they’re never really good winter sales anyway) this year.

Will be checking out trade secret for their spring stock soon. Too bad they don’t update their website to inform when they have new stocks.

BBQ

July 29th, 2010 Cake Posted in Shopping Comments Off

We must be the only home without a BBQ pit. We’ve thought about getting one but then we foresee it being left in storage most of the time and probably accumulate cobwebs and dust.

We have not started to do much entertaining thus do not see the need for a full on BBQ pit. We are however interested in outdoor outdoor electric grills that are portable and easy to store. Best still if they are small enough to put in the car to be taken to parks and such.

Hope to get one later and hope to do more outdoor get together often in the near future.

New wardrobe

May 12th, 2010 Cake Posted in Shopping Comments Off

Yes I need a whole new wardrobe. Sadly it is not because my existing wardrobe is too loose for me but because they’re too tight *triple sighs*. I enjoy looking at modern urban clothes at boutiques at the mall but alas looking at my own stature, there is no way I would look good in them – possibly can’t even fit in any!

Still, I don’t understand why I would bother to look and browse through clothes I won’t fit into? I guess I just like to look at what’s new and trendy. Admiration doesn’t mean a “want” or a “must buy”, right? That’s what I try to convince myself *LOL*

Awaiting sale season

April 9th, 2010 Cake Posted in Shopping Comments Off

I always look forward to retailers’ major sales like stocktake sale (which is happening soon) or post Christmas sale. However I must say that last year’s sales were quite disappointing.

I wish we have something like what the USA has in Black Friday where you could grab some real bargains! Now that’s something to look forward to.

Over here, the most you get is 50% off one festive items after the celebrations. Don’t even dream about a 70% off. Really it isn’t much fun looking for bargains here.

Pyrex

March 19th, 2010 Cake Posted in Shopping Comments Off

I am always on the lookout for Pyrex sale at our local departmental stores. I like how glass containers do not stain and do not go yellow like ceramic or plastic ones. Unfortunately the times when Kmart had a sale on this, they were all gone by the time I went there! It was AU$20 for a set of 3 sizes serving containers with plastic lids.

I guess I will have to catch the next sale. This time I am a little confident I just might be able to get them before they’re all snapped up!

Kmart Opens till midnight

February 20th, 2010 Cake Posted in Shopping Comments Off

It’s the best news ever when our local Kmart decides to open till midnight every Mon to Fri and up till 7pm on weekends.

At least now we can have our dinner, shower and then drive out for some leisure shopping at Kmart. It is nice to be able to look at things without beating the store’s closing time.

We don’t buy much at Kmart, only when something is on sale like household items, homewares, clothing for daily wear, etc. But we like browsing to see what’s new.

First time bus ride to mall

December 15th, 2009 Cake Posted in Shopping Comments Off

Today was the first time me and DD took a bus all the way to the bigger shopping mall.  I don’t think I’d have attempted to do that had I not have to go get something done for myself.  It was a great trip.  DD enjoyed the bus ride very much and it wasn’t a hassle taking the bus from our home, reaching there and getting home much to my surprise.  The weather helped too, being cloudy throughout our trip.

The only negative thing is that the bus fare is expensive and bus service intervals is reduced from 10-15 minutes to every hourly.  Just a short ride of about 15 minutes cost me AU$3.20 one way for adult ticket.  Children under 4 years old is free otherwise they pay half the fare.

End of year savings

November 25th, 2009 Cake Posted in Shopping Comments Off

It is almost end of the year, December is just about a week away, scary, scary! I do enjoy receiving all the end of year sale brochures as I am always looking out for savings in anything. Budgeting has never been so important to me until we have a family :)

So there you go, toys, clothings, household stuff, etc and I am eyeing on a hair curler and hope that particular store will have some sort of sale soon. Well, I just hope we don’t break out bank accounts!
