Healthcare

August 30th, 2010 Cake Posted in Beauty/Health Talk Comments Off

Every now and then there is bound to be in the news about the healthcare crisis and shortage of medical personnel be it doctors, nurses, etc in the public hospitals here. Yet I know there are many talented and hardworking doctors and nurses overseas who would give everything for a chance to practice here.  If only it is as easy as sending their medical resume over to the medical practices or hospitals here to land them a job. Unfortunately things are much tougher.

Well I really hope the healthcare crisis in the public hospitals would be taken care of. It has been going on for far too long. I am actually very disappointed to know of the state of healthcare provided in what is supposed to be a developed country.

Beautiful day but

August 19th, 2010 Cake Posted in Beauty/Health Talk Comments Off

It’s a bit of a waste that I couldn’t do anything in our garden. Didn’t go out with DD today as I want to rest my leg so that I could be in a better condition on Saturday when I meet my friends. Hope my cold goes away fully by then too. What a condition to meet up some old friends – limping and with a red nose *LOL*

Hope the good and warmer weather continues and of course, speedy recovery to my leg. At least I have learnt a lesson – always do stretches before attempting to exercise.

Worry lines

July 9th, 2010 Cake Posted in Beauty/Health Talk Comments Off

Yes I have tons of them and they accelerated at an alarming rate since the birth of DD. Honestly I never thought I would be a worry wort like how I am now. I used to be a “Don’t worry, there is always a solution to everything” kinda person.

Living abroad really changed me. The fact that I don’t have my closest friends, cousins and family members living around me made me feel very insecure. I worry about the slightest things. No wonder I keep looking at wrinkle creams whenever I pass the beauty care aisles in the mall *sigh*

Reunion

July 9th, 2010 Cake Posted in Beauty/Health Talk Comments Off

The word “reunion” must bring shudders to some of us who have ran out of shape during the course of years *LOL* I feel exactly like how some characters in a comedy feel when they had to attend a high school reunion after a decade or two.

Unfortunately I am one of those that have lost their shape after becoming a mother due to laziness in keeping fit. So yeah I might be meeting up with my some school mates I had not seen in decades! I feel so pressured that I even attempted to read up on hydroxycut review to find the easiest and quickest way to shed an extensive amount of weight. Crazy me! Of course it would never work if I am looking for a shortcut like that.

Acnes

July 8th, 2010 Cake Posted in Beauty/Health Talk Comments Off

This appears to be my favourite subject, not! However I could relate to acne sufferers because I had gone through that stage in life. In fact I still suffer from it but not as severe.

I remember looking for the best acne treatment in beauty salons but alas I found the answer through medication instead. The skin specialist saved my face, really. I remember being prescribed antibitics, Dalacin T and some other cream which I could no longer remember.

Within two months my severe acne breakouts ceased for good. Sure I still have breakouts now and then but nothing as severe as during that time when I first got them. My advice, try consulting a skin specialist or a qualified dermatologist.

Beauty stuff

July 8th, 2010 Cake Posted in Beauty/Health Talk Comments Off

In my early twenties, I was quite obsessed with facial and all those beauty products in the market back then. Like so many of my friends, visiting a beauty salon for facials was a must more so for me as I had horrible acne. I had hoped that with proper deep facial by the beauticians, my acnes would go away and no need for any acne scar removal procedure.

Thankfully after visiting a skin specialist instead, my condition was so much better. I stopped going for facials after that due to laziness.

Sleep deprived

July 7th, 2010 Cake Posted in Beauty/Health Talk Comments Off

You know what? DD is back to her waking up several times a night again. I usually ignore her calls but given that she has not been feeling well for the past week till now, I’d spring out of bed the instance I hear her calls for I fear she might be in distress due to her being unwell.

For the record, I got up to tend to her at approx. 12.30am, 1.30am and 3am. Is it any wonder that I am looking for some prototype 37c eye cream to cure my panda eyes? Gosh, now I realize why I don’t get enough sleep all the time.

Annoying zits

July 7th, 2010 Cake Posted in Beauty/Health Talk Comments Off

Well not actually zits but black and white heads! I don’t really have to get rid of blackheads as I don’t much much of them (unless my vision is bad and I don’t know that I’ve actually got lots of ‘em, oh no, please).

I do remember getting rid of whiteheads using the sticky strips years ago. It was kinda gross seeing what came out but at the same time, it really worked to unblock the pores but not for long.

Right now my concern is acne, why am I still getting them by the truckload?

Dear me

July 6th, 2010 Cake Posted in Beauty/Health Talk Comments Off

A fortnight ago, I had this sudden acute acne attack which I hadn’t had for the longest time. I mean yeah there’s acne sometimes but usually on the chin area but this time round I had them on my forehead and cheek!

I freaked out of course and it reminded me how I used to apply what I thought was the best acne cream back then which was prescribed by a skin specialist I consulted. I could never forgot that period of my life. Hope history won’t repeat itself.

Diet drinks

June 5th, 2010 Cake Posted in Beauty/Health Talk Comments Off

I used to watch on TV about all the latest products to assist in shedding the unwanted or excess kilos. The most popular I remember was this particular weight loss drinks which claims to be low in calorie but yet helps keep your metabolism rate going.

The products were a huge hit and sold out almost everywhere – I know because I have looked too. Anyway fast forward a year later, the buzz had died and the stocks don’t move as fast, you always see the products on the shelves now. It’s probably just another diet fad.
