*Poof* it’s gone

April 16th, 2010 Cake Posted in Blur Blur Comments Off

Don’t we all hate it? I remember clearly how I’d typed an entry on MS Word feeling very sure that I had saved that file before exiting the programme. Lo and behold when I reopened the file the next day, my entry wasn’t there. *sigh* I must have forgotten to save it but mind you, as I was typing it, DD was constantly asking me this and that while she sat on my desk and me on DH’s desk. So my concentration went haywire as usual. Boy, I sure don’t know how other moms with two or more kids do it!

And so, I began to type a completely new entry today since I didn’t quite like the previous one.

Oops wrong date

March 11th, 2010 Cake Posted in Blur Blur Comments Off

I did it again!  Mixing up the date for a kid’s performance to be held in front of Kmart.  I had thought it was today when in actual fact it is to be on the 18th ie next week.  Gosh and I even told a mom at the swimming school about it happening today *blush*!  Hope she didn’t go to it!

Anyway so there I was at Kmart with DD after her swimming lesson, to while the time away waiting for 11.30am when the show was supposed to start.  When we came out of Kmart by 11.20am, I saw nothing prepared for the show and then it struck me that I must’ve got the dates or venue mixed up.  While exiting the mall, I saw a poster stating the date on the 18th.  Goodness gracious!

Without wasting time, we adjourned to home sweet home :D

Leather vs PVC high back chair

January 17th, 2010 Cake Posted in Blur Blur Comments Off

Now which would you choose? Leather of course! Today we mistakenly bought a PVC chair, aiyoyo so blur. I thought it was leather. Not taking it back to exchange. It is alright as it is actually for DD when she plays computer games. That will give me an excuse to buy another more comfy chair later down the road *LOL* As if!

Anyway, if you could help it, get a leather high back chair, it makes a world of difference. I’d recommend that to anyone. Over here it is pretty reasonable, about AU$100 onwards will get you a good leather one. Guess how much I paid for the PVC one? AU$99 !!! So angry with myself, haha.  DH knew it was PVC but didn’t question me at the time why I chose a PVC to a leather chair.  Sigh, if only he’d asked!

Umbrella where art thou?

September 23rd, 2009 Cake Posted in Blur Blur Comments Off

Couldn’t find my foldable umbrella today.  Annoying because I was the one who kept it hidden from DD.  Well obviously it is very well hidden for I myself could not find it *LOL*.

Looks like I’m gonna do some spring cleaning in order to locate it *sigh*, don’t you hate it when that happens!  There are a few other umbrellas in the garage but they’re the ones which you can’t fold (shorten it).

Really, after having a kid, I became very disorganized and less forcused.

Where are our rings?

June 18th, 2009 Cake Posted in Blur Blur Comments Off

Do you like rings? I know most women do. I do too, once upon a time that is, especially when I was working. I liked dressing good, dolling up and accessorise myself at work. Miss those times when it was so nice to chit chat about fashion, jewelleries, hairstyle, etc beside meeting deadlines and getting all stressed out at work.

Well sad to say, I have turned into an old hag indeed. Don’t talk about engagement rings, I do not even know where my wedding ring has gone to. DH and I stopped wearing them after DD’s birth. I think I put on so much weight that the ring became so tight for me. As for DH, his eczema worsen and it was best he had no ring on to lessen the itch and bruises. So we kept them away but for the life of me, I couldn’t remember where!

Anzac Day

April 25th, 2009 Cake Posted in Blur Blur Comments Off

We had forgotten that it is Anzac Day today.  I even sent DH out to the post office to get me some stamps and envelopes.  He wondered why the carpark was pretty empty when he reached there, only to find out that the mall was closed till 1pm.  The Post Office doesn’t open past 1pm on Saturdays and is closed on Sundays.

It’s a beautiful sunny day today.  Wonder what we’ll be doing or going.  Maybe just stay home?  So lazy to do anything really eventhough there are tons of chores to do.

Wish I’m an octopus

April 10th, 2009 Cake Posted in Blur Blur Comments Off

Because I have too many hobbies I want to do at the same time.  Now that I looked back at some of my completed x-stitch and books, I feel like making more!  On the other hand, I am currently making felt crafts for my girl ie felt food and hair clips and much more items are planned for her.

Anyway I’ve searched the garage, some cupboards and boxes, yet I couldn’t find where that big landscape x-stitch is.  *Sigh* this is what happens when you move into a partly completed house and have a baby two months after.  Three years down the road and the whole house is still a mess, with many boxes left unpacked.

I really have dig everything up from every cupboard, boxes and room to reorganize everything.  Who knows what treasure I’ll find again, hehe.

Goodness Me!

September 2nd, 2008 Cake Posted in Blur Blur Comments Off

Talk about carelessness and 4getfoolness! When these two are combined, it is disaster! I only realized that I lost my ATM card a week later. Fortunately I was able to trace back to when I last used it ie at the Post Office.

I rang the Post Office and sure enough, they had my card, phew! I was prepared to report my card lost and go through the hassle of getting a new one issued by the bank. Though not inconvenient but still, it will take a bit of time.

I am unsure how I lost it. Below are a few possibilities:

  • left it at the postal counter after paying
  • left it at the table at the post office
  • dropped it onto the floor (I remember dropping the receipt and DD picked it up to play with it)

Old woman!

I know that it is common for most moms to be forgetful and I am not spared either. I realized today that I won’t remember what I have just bought from our shopping on the day itself IF it wasn’t me who unpacked the items or food into the pantry, refrigerator or cupboards. I would totally forget about them until the next day or whenever I remember. Words just could not describe how disorganised my mind has been since DD came along.

Tea with Salt

March 26th, 2008 Cake Posted in Blur Blur No Comments »

My morning cuppa tasted salty this morning. I took another few sips just to make sure I wasn’t hallucinating. Sure enough, I had salt in my tea!  Now how did the salt ended up in my cuppa? I solved half the mystery. I had earlier poured the new pack of sugar into smaller plastic containers because the bag burst. For the life of me, I could not remember that I had also poured a bag of table salt into containers of the same design, colour and size.

When I refilled the main sugar container, I must have taken one small container of salt and sugar each! But the puzzling thing is, I thought DH and I both had our cuppas after dinner at about 6.30pm and the tea didn’t taste salty or was the pasta so salty that we were unaware of the salt in our tea? I know that DH had an easter choco egg right before he had his tea. Perhaps that affected his tastebud too? *LOL* silly us indeed!
